Dolly is a one-year-old mixed breed dog. She weighs 35 lbs. and is ready to trade the shelter life for a real home with a cozy bed and never ending supply of squeaky toys.

Dolly spent some time in the shelter before but was sadly returned after adoption because she was too energetic and didn’t match her previous adopters’ lifestyle.

Dolly is much like a puppy. She does still need training, but with time and patience she could be your best pal.

She is dog and cat friendly and loves people. Her favorite toys are the extra large plushies with squeakers in them. She can be very outgoing, but lately since she is confused about why she was returned, she seems a bit down in her kennel.

Give Dolly a chance, and remember the three for three rule: three days to decompress, three weeks to learn your routine, and three months to feel at home.

Anyone interested in Dolly can visit her at the animal shelter at 1273 Balok St. in Gallup. They are open Monday-Friday from 8 am – 5 pm, with animal viewing hours from 10:30 am – 4:30 pm;  and Saturdays from 9 am – 3 pm, with viewing hours from 10:30 am – 4:30 pm.

People can also take advantage of the shelter’s $20 adoption special, which is happening through Sept. 4.
