Albert J. Dixon Sr. of Gallup, died May 23. He was 85.
Albert was born in rural Church Rock, N.M. on Oct. 27, 1940. He was born into the Meadow People (Haltsooí), born for Black Streak Wood People (Tsi’naajinii).
He was preceded in death by his parents Nellie Johnson Dixon and Frank Dixon Sr.; his brothers Gibson J Dixon Sr., Frank Dixon Jr., Tommy Dixon, Robert Dixon, and Kenneth Dixon; his sons Ryan Dixon and Albert Dixon Jr. III; his grandsons Matthew Dixon and Shane Yazzie; his daughter Phyllis Dixon; his granddaughter Merletta Hale; and his sisters Elizabeth Dixon, Alice White, Frannie White, and Mildred Dixon,
He is survived by his sons Albert Dixon Jr., Edbert Dixon, Merle Dixon, and Franklin Dixon Sr.; his daughters Merlinda Dixon, Albertcita Dixon, and Alberta Dixon; and his sisters Betty Dixon, Victoria Dixon, and Lucille Herrera.
A funeral service will be held at Rolle Mortuary on June 5 at 10 am. Flowers can be sent to Rollie Mortuary. Albert will be buried at Sunset Memorial.
