Marlene Ann Romero, of Phoenix, died Sept. 20. She was 67. She was born in Gallup, on Sept. 18, 1959. She was born into the Tsi’naajinii (Black Streak Wood People Clan) born for Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House People Clan). Marlene was preceded in death by Ester Ortiz, Willie Yazzie, Marcus Garcia, and Dustin Garcia. She is survived by five sons, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at Victory Revival Church on Oct. 14 at 8 am from 10 am.
