WASHINGTON D.C. — U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., published the following statement online the morning of Feb. 24, stating that he will not be attending President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech, which will take place later in the evening of Feb. 24:
“I will once again not be going to the State of the Union this year,” Heinrich said. “I will not normalize Donald Trump’s actions and his abuse of the presidency”
This marks the second year in a row Heinrich has boycotted President Trump’s State of the Union address.
