In Loving Memory: Mavise Yazzie, of Nahodishgish, N.M. died on Sept. 18. She was 59.

She was born in Crownpoint, N.M., on Oct. 9, 1965. She was born into the Todich’ii’nii (Bitter water), born for Kinyaa’aanii (Towering House).

Mavise was preceded in death by her daughter Mabeline Yazzie. She is survived by her siblings Bernice Begaye, Darryl Yazzie, Gloria Largo, Diane Yazzie, Deanna Yazzie, and Dora Largo.

A funeral service will be held at Rollie’s on Sept. 30 at 10 am.
