The northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 491 from mile marker 23 (Tohatchi) to mile marker 26 (three miles north of Tohatchi) are closed due to flooding as of 3:30 pm Sept. 16.
Drivers should watch for slow moving traffic. Use extreme caution. When the roadway is flooded, do not cross it. Seek an alternative route. Turn around, don’t drown.
