A bear that has been spotted roaming the local area for the past week or so has finally been caught.
Around 10:15 am, the Gallup Police, McKinley County Sheriff’s Office, and New Mexico State Police were informed that the bear had been seen near Junker Bridge. Then, around 10:27 am, it was reportedly seen near Grandview Drive.
By 11:33 am, New Mexico Game and Fish had safely tranqulized the bear. It will be relocated and released away from Gallup in a safe environment.
