Vincent J. Lopez, Sr., of Gallup, died July 26. He was 81.
He was born in Gallup on Feb. 26, 1945.
Vincent was preceded in death by his mother, Mercedes Gomez Lopez of Albuquerque; his father José Carmel Romero of Nambé, N.M.; his stepfather, Samuel M. Lopez; his siblings: Romero Family, Lorraine Montoya (Ben), Benni Trujillo (Willie), Tillie Garcia (Johny), Carmen Herrera (Frudy), Mino Romero (Agnes); and his grandson Brian Anthony Lopez. He is survived by his sons, Vincent Lopez, Jr. and Raul Lopez; his siblings, Modesta Lopez Garcia (Antonio) of Silver City, N.M., Samuel O. Lopez of Albuquerque, Mercedes Lopez Wooten of Albuquerque, David Romero (Lugi) of Nambé, Sam Romero (Christine) of Nambé, Mary Ann Griego of Santa Fe, and Sofia Howard (Harry) of Nambé.
A funeral service will be held at Cope Memorial Chapel (1830 Barbara Ave.) on Aug. 21 at 11 am.
