Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services Laboratory has been awarded its reaccreditation from the College of American Pathologists as of Sept. 5, based on the results of a recent on-site inspection as part of the CAP’s Accreditation Programs.
Recognized for rigorous and robust standards, CAP accreditation elevates quality and mitigates risk, an important way that laboratories can contribute to improved patient outcomes.
The Director, Christine Antonio, and staff were advised of this recognition and congratulated for the excellence of the services being provided.
“I am so proud of my team,” Antonio said. “Their commitment to hard work has paid off.”
During the CAP accreditation process, eight surveyors reviewed the laboratory’s records, quality control procedures, and operational processes. The CAP surveyors also evaluated laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, and safety programs. These assessments help verify activities and reflect the latest best practices. By meeting CAP standards, which the Centers approve for Medicare and Medicaid Services, labs demonstrate compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments regulations.
“We are proud of our lab team and their dedication to safe, quality care,” RMCHCS CEO Wayne Gillis said. “This achievement reflects our mission to continuously raise the bar for patient services.”
