Freddie Holiday, Sr., of Gallup, died Sept. 7. He was 75.
He was born in Navajo Mountain, Ariz., on May 9, 1951. He was born into the Bitter Water People Clan (Tódích’íí’nii) and born for the Folded Arm People Clan (Bit’ahnii).
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents Keith and Sadie E. Holiday and five brothers (Kee Bahe Holiday, Sam Holiday, Bennie Holiday, Joe Holiday, and Kenneth Holiday). He is survived by his wife Esther Holiday; 10 children; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brothers Jack Holiday and Julian Holiday; and his sisters Betty Redhouse and Allison Montijo.
Gravesite services were held at Gallup State Veterans Cemetery on Sept. 24.
