ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico is set to hold the nation’s fourth Democratic presidential primary in 2028 under a new plan that moves the state vote to Feb. 15.
After an Aug. 15 vote from the Democratic National Committee, New Mexico moved into the early presidential primary calendar for Democrats.
The change now depends on the governor and some state lawmakers sending the DNC a signed letter agreeing to introduce a state law to move the date.
New Mexico’s primary would come after South Carolina, Nevada, and New Hampshire.
