Miley works very hard at everything she puts her mind to. She is not afraid to take on new tasks and assignments. She demonstrates excellent teamwork and leadership. She is always there for her teammates when they need positive feedback or encouragement.

Grade: Junior
Geneva has been working hard to improve her back row receiving and attacking. She had great serves and had the most serves in the games this week. She can hit hard and also read the block to tip behind it.

Name: Naythan Cleveland
Sport: Cross Country
Grade: Freshman
Naythan Cleveland had a tremendous performance at the Albuquerque Academy Extravaganza. He broke 19:00 for the first time in his life, and he helped the Thoreau High School Boys Cross Country team finish in the top 10. Naythan brings positivity and a love for running to the team. His goal at the beginning of the year was to break 20:00, and through hard work and dedication he blew through that barrier and will hopefully run even faster at the District Championships on Nov. 1.

Grade: Junior
Thurmond made several key stops in Tohatchi’s game against Wingate. He has posted over 10 tackles, is a three-sport athlete, and is an exceptional student.

Name: Malia Yazzie
Sport: Volleyball
Grade: Junior
Malia was instrumental in the win over Shiprock Northwest as libero. Her “kills” helped lead TGH to victory in a hard-fought district game. She showed confidence and incredible athleticism and was a true team player.
