Tough was surrendered to the McKinley County Humane Society Dec. 21. His previous owner passed away in the hospital here in Gallup. Tough was being cared for by a friend of his owner. The caregiver stated she travels quite a distance to care for Tough daily and she wasn’t able to adopt him due to already having animals of her own. She was worried about Tough being on his own a majority of the time. She decided to surrender Tough in hopes he will find a new home that will love and care for him.
He is a vocal boy who is always alert. He is very sweet to humans and loves his walks. He is a great companion! The humane society noticed that Tough gets overlooked at the shelter because visitors want to see puppies more than the adult dogs.
Anyone interested in Tough can visit him at the McKinley County Humane Society at 1273 Balok St. in Gallup. They are open Monday-Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.
