WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. — The 25th Navajo Nation Council will convene the 2026 Spring Session at 10 am on April 20 in the Navajo Nation Council Chamber, located in the Nation’s capital of Window Rock, Ariz.
“The voices of our communities shape the direction of our government,” Speaker Crystalyne Curley said. “Our nation and our people continue to face important issues that require thoughtful discussion and meaningful action. Community engagement helps ensure that solutions brought forward reflect the needs and priorities of the Navajo people. I encourage everyone to take part in the 2026 Spring Session by attending in person or joining us online.”
Prior to the opening session, the Missing and Murdered Diné Relatives Task Force will host a Sexual Assault Awareness Month Walk beginning at 8 am on April 20 at the Navajo Nation Museum and ending at the Navajo Nation Council Chamber.
Members of the 25th Navajo Nation Council will join the Navajo Division for Children and Family Services for a Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Walk beginning at 8 am on April 21 at the Navajo Nation Museum and concluding at the Navajo Nation Council Chamber.
Opening day ceremonies will include the posting of the colors by the Saanii Silaoltsooi Color Guard. The Holbrook High School Navajo Government Class will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and the National Anthem will be performed by Navajo Nation Youth Advisory Council Vice President Tewakeedah Martin. The opening invocation will be delivered by Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Little Miss Ceremonial 2025–2026 Gizelle Van Winkle.
In accordance with Title 2 of the Navajo Nation Code, the Council is also scheduled to receive the State of the Navajo Nation Address on April 20.
The 2026 Spring Session will continue through April 24 as the Council addresses legislation, reports, and matters affecting the Navajo Nation.
