(REGULAR POSITION FILLED, BUT RELIEF/ON CALL DRIVER WANTED.) INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR DELIVERY DRIVER – Must have reliable vehicle, current registration and proof of insurance. Must bring MVD driving record report upon interview. Delivery is on Friday, and additional hours may be available during the week to assist with circulation goals. Drug testing and background check applies. Must own vehicle w/valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and registration.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT: Looking for a career-minded individual to help the Sun with daily office tasks from billing to helping customers at the front desk (and by phone), and assisting staff with daily operations. As a friendly, confident, and positive-minded candidate for this position, you must be able to type and demonstrate literacy in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, and other basic computer/grammar skills. Hours are 30-40 per week, Monday-Friday. Dress is business casual.

EDITORIAL ASSISTANT (EA): Calling on wordsmiths! The Gallup Sun seeks an EA to assist the managing editor remotely during the week — before, during and after production. Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of writing/editing experience, or better yet, consistent editing/writing experience in a deadline driven environment. Other duties include article writing, fact checking, formatting stories, and other skills necessary for success in a remote newsroom.
Selected candidate must be available to work 5 days a week, but open-availability is required Tuesday-Thursday (some evenings necessary). Once trained, the EA will fill in for managing editor when she takes a vacation, sick day(s), or time off. Software used in the position: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Adobe PDF, WhatsApp, and more.
The selected EA will start out as a 1099 contractor with potential for growth. Pay: $15-$17 hr. DOE. Due to the training involved with this position, serious candidates need only apply.
