Top Shelf Dispensary, located 815 E. Hwy. 66, received major damage in the early morning hours of Feb. 26 after a drunk driver drove into the building. According to a Gallup Police Department press release, Metro Dispatch received a call around 1:45 am from concerned citizens who said a reckless driver was driving drunk around Cliffside Apartments. Officers arrived in the area shortly after receiving the call and the driver of the alleged vehicle nearly collided with a Gallup Police vehicle before fleeing the scene. The suspect reportedly continued to drive erratically. He eventually lost control and crashed into the business. Gallup Police Chief Erin Toadlena-Pablo said the suspect is currently in the hospital.
