Antonia Hitchens’ expose, titled, “No Enemies to the Right,” published in the April 13 edition of The New Yorker magazine, examines how the internet fringe infiltrated Republican politics. She spoke with a follower of Nick Fuentes who call themselves “Groypers.” They accuse conservative Republicans who deny the reality of the “great replacement,” of being traitors.
Groypers believe liberal white elites in Europe and America are intentionally enabling a flood of (mostly non-white) migrants to dilute majority white populations there. They also are convinced wealthy, technologically advanced nations such as ours are ruled behind the scenes by “Zionist billionaires.”
While liberals may feel we now live in an increasingly authoritarian — rather than democratic — country, Groypers are frustrated that America’s nationalist takeover never went far enough.
Fuentes has complained, “Trump promised to support the ones of us who don’t own stock or a house. He didn’t, and he’s not going to give us mass deportations.” On Feb. 28, Fuentes broadcasted an attack on MAGA, raging bitterly, “MAGA was against all foreign interventions. The President is now doing exactly what he disavowed. He and the conservative movement has become a tool of the Israel lobby. Trump is a scam artist running an illegitimate regime!”
According to Hitchens, Groypers are concerned about two things: white genocide and Jewish subversion. She spoke with Lauren Nash, a young woman who identifies herself as a Groypette. Nash asserted, “Not enough actual deportations are happening. We don’t want illegal immigrants to live in fear; we want them gone!”
The Manhattan Institute, a conservative think tank, recently interviewed a group of young Republicans. “I like Hitler because he was a nationalist. We should take back America for our native population,” they agreed.
What is America’s ‘native’ population? Of course, the various Indigenous people groups who were already settled here when northern European settlers arrived. Those settlers soon found they could gain wealth by engaging in the European slave trade bringing captured West Africans to this land. After winning a war with Mexico, America took control of the western portion of what is now our country where some inhabitants spoke Spanish, and others, tribal languages. Only 125 years ago, the U.S. welcomed Asian and Jewish immigrants from as far away as China and Russia. They worked tirelessly to create the infrastructure and commercial establishments that made America great.
Hitchens notes where Groyper activism has been taken up by the current administration. The Justice Department’s civil rights division is now focused on combating what they view as anti-white discrimination, as well as, closing D.E.I. programs. “President Trump said that the civil-rights movement resulted in white people being very badly treated,” she shared.
Hitchens listened to a live stream interview of James Fishback, who praised the ‘foundational white stock’ from whom our nation is being stolen. “Where is the compassion for the people who built this country? White men are the biggest victims of racism and globalization. We can’t own anything. We can’t have jobs in our own country anymore,” Fishback claims.
In 2022, sociologist Richard Reeves, author of Of Boys and Men, discovered men are falling behind. In the past 40 years, men’s wages have decreased as job insecurity has grown. Men today are five times more likely to reveal they don’t have any close friends.
The April, 6 edition of The New Yorker magazine contains a report titled, “Beta Blockers,” by Charles Bethea. In it, Bethea quotes Nick Adams, author of “Alpha Kings,” which features a foreword by Donald Trump, our current president. Adams complains, “American young men are sick of being told that their masculinity is toxic and their generation should be led by women.” Bethea interviewed Bedros Keuilian, immigrant from Armenia, founder of an organization that seeks to help fathers mentor their sons. “My work is essential to saving America,” Keuilian asserts. “The opposition is on a mission to weaken males and turn America into a country full of young men who are docile.”
What can the individual white American male do about all this?
The term “alpha male” was invented in 1982 by Yerkes National Primate Research Center director Frans de Waals, who claimed chimp leaders (alpha males) were not aggressive but instead, focused on coalition-building within their troop by protecting underdogs when conflicts erupted. As evidence of the confusion of the terms alpha and beta, Bethea noted that Mark Zuckerberg recently rejected his identity as an example of “low-testosterone beta males slouching in a chair” and insisted, “There isn’t enough ‘masculine energy’ in corporate America.”
While its true whites are less of the majority of our population than they have been in the past, the focus on skin color is taking America toward civil war, not a greater nation, in my opinion. Do we need more “warriors,” aka aggressive, domineering men? Or do we need men who can courageously, creatively and compassionately dedicate themselves to re-uniting all the residents of our nation behind the push for world peace, developing a human civilization that can adapt to the needs of a planet undergoing climate change?
The sector of America that believes they will benefit from a return to the past needs to keep us divided. But that is not in our best interest. E Pluribus Unum.
